Frost Music & Arts Festival | 2019 | Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Draw, Procreate
Frost is Stanford University's annual music and arts festival that traces its roots back to the 1960s with performances from Joan Baez and the Grateful Dead. Frost 2019 saw the festival return to its original venue, Frost Amphitheater, after a two-year renovation project. I wanted to pay homage to the festival and the venue’s incredible history, so I drew heavily from 1960s/70s rock ‘n’ roll & flower power poster design trends in creating this year’s Frost design.
Additionally, 2019 is the first year featuring female headliners, both of which are women of color. The poster would thus be incomplete without mother nature herself, the source of both the music and the outdoor venue of Frost 2019.
Battery621 Commission | 2019 | Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Draw
Battery621 is a co-working space in Denver, Colorado — a collective of outdoor industry companies & creative/media agencies. Their brand emphasizes the outdoorsy culture of the Rocky Mountains, so in creating this graphic for their First Friday summer events I wanted to elevate Colorado’s natural beauty as something created for the gods, pulling inspiration from representations of Mount Olympus amongst the clouds.
One Night Only Festival | 2019 | Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Draw
ONO is Pitzer College’s annual music festival that celebrates artists of color in hip hop and R&B. I wanted the poster to be rich with symbolism representing black culture and black pride — the black panthers along the perimeter; the snake symbolic of rebirth, transformation, & healing; the afro; and the leaves around her shoulders inspired by Jimmy Hendrix album art. The poster also draws from “afrofuturism” design trends that explore the developing intersection of African Diaspora culture with technology.
Stanford Africa Business Forum | 2019 | InDesign, Sketch
SABF is a one-day conference that attracts over 300 attendees to the Stanford Graduate School of Business to inspire relevant ideas for business in Africa. This year’s theme focused on the role of Africans in the future and its central position in the fourth, digital technological revolution. In developing the conference’s brand, I sought to combine the bright, intricate patterns of African clothing design with the clean, geometric lines of circuit boards to illustrate communication and connection through culture and technology.

Stanford Immersive Media Conference | 2019 | Sketch
As Creative Director of Stanford VR (formerly Rabbit Hole VR), I get to create the visuals for our annual conference and its 250+ attendees. The goal of the conference is to increase exposure, awareness, and involvement in VR/AR at Stanford and the Bay Area. Our theme this year focused on exploring and pushing the conceptual, computational, sensory, and artistic boundaries of XR media, so I wanted the visuals to similarly challenge traditional notions of 2D and 3D space and illustrate a collision of the present and the future.
